Dismantling the engine is always in interesting task. Many engines look and feel ok, until You dismantle it and make measurements. As we have found a piece of piston ring in the oil, we were quite suspicious, an a bit even skeptic.
Turbo looks ok, but will be sent to a specialis for refurbishment.
lthough exhaust looked ok, it is completely gone. After severel hundred times getting red hot and cooling down again, it became brittle, and no more life left in it. It will be replaced.
Pistons and cylinders are a question. At the measuring points, they are quite all right, showing only 0.03mms wear, but still might be replaced for perfection.
Thankfully the crankshaft is in great condition, aside the oil pump and the case itself.
