Problem...

After removing the remains of the interior, we started on the engine bay.
First shock came when we drained the oil.
Any time we remove oil from an engine, we put a strong magnet in the oil flow, to detect any metalic particles, that might suggest problems. Normaly the magnet remains clear. Not now though...

This is definitely a piece of piston ring, which is... well... not a good sign. Although the edges looked a bit strange, soo we brung the item to the university for some microscopical inspection.

As clearly visible, the edges, that are normaly razor sharp, are now well rounded down. We suspect that this parts was travelling inside the engine for quite long time. Maybe this is only a leftover of an old engine brakedown? Hope dies last... Anyway, it looks like we have to dismantle the engine now.
